The architect of countless Filipino stars, Juan “Johnny” L. Manahan – universally known as Mr. M – has embarked on a new chapter, officially joining MQuest Ventures and MQuest Artists Agency.
The signing ceremony brought together key figures including Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of MediaQuest Holdings and Cignal TV, and Jane J. Basas, president and CEO of both companies. Their presence underscored the significance of this partnership, signaling a renewed commitment to the Philippine entertainment landscape.
Mr. Manahan, a veteran in the industry, declared a clear mission: to continue the art of star-making. He spoke with confidence, born from years of experience, asserting their deep understanding of what it takes to cultivate true artistry.
He revealed a bold mandate from Mr. Pangilinan – to establish a groundbreaking artist center, one that would not only discover but also rigorously train performers for the demands of a rapidly evolving decade.
Mr. Pangilinan lauded Mr. Manahan’s recent success with “Vibe,” the popular OPM countdown show, noting its impressive ratings boost under his direction. He emphasized that Mr. Manahan’s expertise is crucial for attracting the nation’s most promising talents.
“Talent is the ultimate vehicle for storytelling,” Mr. Pangilinan stated, highlighting the power of creative expression and the vital role Mr. Manahan plays in unlocking it. His ability to nurture and guide artists is considered invaluable.
A nationwide talent search is already in motion, a testament to Mr. Manahan’s proactive approach. The search aims to unearth hidden gems and provide them with the platform they deserve.
The agency intends to expand its roster, signing new artists for a series of exciting upcoming projects. Warm greetings were extended by Andrea Brillantes and Piolo Pascual, both established stars within the MQuest family.
Mr. Manahan also unveiled the name for this new creative hub within the network: “Starworks.” It’s a fitting title, promising a future filled with the creation and elevation of Filipino stars.
