The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a 36-year-old nurse in Missouri continue to unfold, leaving many unanswered questions.
Alexandra "Allie" Hummel was found unresponsive in her home on June 23 in the Lone Cedar Trail area of New London after authorities responded to a 911 call.
The Ralls County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the coroner ordered an autopsy, and an investigation into her death is ongoing.
Records indicate that Hummel was a licensed nurse in Missouri, while her husband, Dr. Andrew Hummel, is a licensed anesthesiologist.
Dr. Hummel is currently self-employed at Northern Ozark Anesthesia Solutions, his own limited liability company, according to professional networking sites.
Court records reveal that Dr. Hummel pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in March 2026, and had previously been arrested in July 2025 on charges of strangling and striking another woman in the face.
It is essential to note that Dr. Hummel has not been accused of any crime or wrongdoing in his wife's death.
The investigation into Hummel's death is ongoing, and authorities have yet to release any details about the cause of her passing.
