Helen George has shared her heart-wrenching experience of dating a man who was diagnosed with leukaemia just before they were supposed to spend time together.
The Call The Midwife star, 42, revealed that she was seeing someone who was diagnosed with the illness just before she flew out to the Bahamas to film a shark documentary.
'I had been dating someone who very suddenly got diagnosed with leukaemia,' she said on the Mystic Mates podcast. 'It was pretty serious from the start and he knew.'

The actress, who has two children with her ex-partner, said she would often call her best friend and sob down the phone about the man, describing him as 'lovely and beautiful'.
Helen believes her ex-boyfriend is still watching over her and 'comes through' in her clairvoyance readings, 'looking after her'.
In a recent reading, the medium said an ex-boyfriend who died 'very suddenly' was making contact as he's 'not very happy' about her 'situation', including her split from boyfriend Dan Innes.

'I cried because it was wonderful to think this person, whom I didn't really know for that long, was there,' she said. 'He was angry that he'd left me looking for someone else and then finding someone else who wasn't suitable.'
Helen and Dan moved in together earlier this year, but their relationship appears to have ended, with the actress taking to social media to hint at her heartbreak.
The heartbroken star reposted a quote to her Instagram Story which made reference to 'responding to disrespect', sparking speculation about the nature of their split.
Helen and Dan began their romance after meeting on the dating app Raya, and appeared together at a string of industry events.
