TRUMP ISOLATED: Canada SHUNS His Ukraine Disaster Plan!

The fate of Ukraine rests solely in Ukrainian hands. Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand delivered a firm message at the G20 summit in Johannesburg, signaling Canada’s resolute stance against externally imposed peace terms.

A proposed plan, originating from the United States, has sparked international debate. It suggests Ukraine cede territory to Russia, significantly downsize its military, and forgo aspirations of joining the NATO alliance – a proposition widely viewed as tilting the scales in Moscow’s favor.

Canada, aligning with European nations and Japan, acknowledged ongoing American efforts to broker peace. However, a joint statement released after the G20 meeting underscored the need for substantial revisions to the current proposal, emphasizing critical shortcomings.

Minister Anand, while carefully avoiding direct criticism, affirmed Canada’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The fundamental principle, she stated, is that Kyiv must determine its own future and the terms of any lasting peace.

Ukraine is not merely a foreign policy concern for Canada; it’s a “top priority.” This commitment stems from a dedication to upholding a rules-based international order, one where sovereignty and self-determination are paramount.

The G20 summit unfolded amidst a notable U.S. boycott, yet managed to achieve consensus on a comprehensive joint statement. This document addressed key issues championed by Washington, including gender equality and the urgent need to combat climate change, demonstrating a collective resolve despite diplomatic tensions.
