HE STOLE HER LIFE, THEN TRIED TO BUY A TRACKSUIT?!

A chance encounter at a petrol station turned into a nightmare for a woman who was brutally attacked by Kieran Naylor, a 40-year-old man with a long history of offenses. The December attack shattered her life, leaving scars that would linger long after the physical wounds began to heal.

The court heard a chilling detail of Naylor’s callousness: when the woman, already injured, pleaded for him to call for help, he simply laughed. She desperately tried to reach the front door, dragging herself along on her elbows, only to be violently pulled back inside by her attacker.

The assault continued, escalating into a second horrific violation. Immobilized by a broken femur and wrist, the woman eventually lost consciousness, her body unable to withstand the trauma any longer. Naylor then callously stole her bank card, using it for personal gain – cigarettes, alcohol, and a failed attempt to buy new clothes.

Summoning incredible strength, the woman managed to crawl back to the door and call for help. A passerby discovered her and immediately contacted emergency services, initiating a response that would ultimately lead to Naylor’s arrest.

Tragically, the woman’s fight for justice was cut short. She passed away in May from natural causes, never witnessing Naylor’s conviction. He was found guilty of two counts of rape, false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm, and theft – a litany of crimes reflecting the brutality of his actions.

Her daughters painted a heartbreaking picture of the woman she once was – kind, strong, loving, and full of life. The attack extinguished that spark, replacing it with fear and a profound loss of trust. Even with assistance, she struggled to walk, and the physical pain was compounded by a devastating toll on her mental health.

A violent rapist who attacked a woman then trapped her inside for 18 hours has been jailed. Kieran Naylor met the woman at a petrol station in the early hours of December 9 last year. He invited her back to his home in Bolton before subjecting her to a brutal sexual assault. Today (November 25), Manchester Crown Court heard that Naylor, 40, then violently attacked her, kicking and stamping on his victim. As a result she was left with a broken leg and a broken wrist.

“After this happened, my mum’s confidence and sense of safety completely changed,” one daughter shared in a statement to the court. “She became fearful of going out alone and trusting people was suddenly difficult.” The family’s grief was intensified by the memory of her suffering, a pain that would endure for years to come.

The other daughter spoke of her mother’s constant worry and the heartbreaking decline of her mental state. They sought closure, not just for themselves, but to honor her story and ensure her suffering wasn’t in vain.

Naylor’s criminal history revealed a pattern of violence and theft, with 57 previous convictions for 100 offenses. While his defense attempted to portray a troubled past and struggles with addiction, the severity of his crimes overshadowed any mitigating factors.

He was sentenced to 14 years in prison, with an extended license of two years, and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. A restraining order was also issued, indefinitely prohibiting him from contacting the victim’s daughters. The judge recognized Naylor as a high risk to women, emphasizing the complete loss of confidence and independence he inflicted upon his victim.

Detective Constable Lucy Birch of Bolton CID described the crime as “shocking and deeply disturbing.” She praised the victim’s bravery in ensuring justice was served, even though she didn’t live to see Naylor sentenced. Her courage, Birch stated, would help protect other women from similar harm.

Authorities urged anyone affected by similar crimes to come forward, promising to treat all allegations with dignity and respect. The case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of sexual violence and the importance of supporting survivors.
