Royal Caribbean has extended its suspension of visits to Labadee, a popular private resort in Haiti, through June 2027.
The decision comes as Haiti continues to grapple with widespread gang violence and political instability, prompting a Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory from the U.S. State Department.
Labadee, located roughly six miles northwest of Cap-Haïtien, Haiti's second-largest city, offers a private beach destination with white-sand beaches and the Dragon's Breath Flight Line, one of the world's longest over-water ziplines.
Royal Caribbean has communicated the changes directly with guests and emphasized the safety and well-being of its guests and crew members.
The company remains committed to its Labadee team members and is working to ensure they feel informed and supported.
In the meantime, cruise passengers will not be able to experience the destination, with some passengers expressing disappointment on a Royal Caribbean forum.
Passengers on the forum reported that their Labadee stops were replaced with destinations including Grand Cayman, Grand Turk, Cozumel, and Nassau.
Royal Caribbean has identified positions across its fleets and destinations to place team members during the pause and continues to support local communities through ongoing humanitarian efforts.
The company's investments in the region extend beyond its operations at Labadee, with a commitment to supporting local communities through ongoing food donations and other efforts.
