The jungle has claimed another star. Ruby Wax became the fifth contestant eliminated from the competition, leaving behind a camp filled with both laughter and lingering drama.
Speaking with Ant and Dec after her departure, Wax described a surreal feeling, playfully declaring herself the “Queen” of the camp and suggesting she’d been “abducted” from her jungle life. Despite her initial shock, she confessed to being genuinely disappointed to leave, believing she still had more to offer the experience.
Wax fondly reflected on the connections she forged, particularly with the younger members of the group. She openly admitted to being “wooed” by Tom Read Wilson and expressed a strong affection for Ginge and Aitch, seeing them as kindred spirits in the challenging environment.
A touch of her signature humor surfaced as she joked about feeling “slightly hysterical” and regressing to the age of three. The infamous “milk bottle gate” also came up, and Wax was visibly surprised to learn the full extent of the deception – a staggering twenty sweets, not the reported three.
Wax playfully threatened retribution, vowing to “whip” and “deal with” the perpetrators once they were also evicted. Her unwavering support landed with Ginge, whom she confidently predicted would be crowned King of the Jungle, even offering to “put money” on it.
The eviction followed Kelly Brook’s departure the previous night, alongside Lisa Riley, both receiving the fewest votes. The remaining campmates faced their own challenges and small victories.
Jack Osbourne discovered it was his father’s birthday, but maintained a stoic attitude, acknowledging it as “just another day.” He then bravely tackled the “Dangerous Discoveries” Bushtucker Trial, securing an impressive seven out of eight stars for the camp’s dinner.
A welcome distraction arrived in the form of gifts from loved ones. Martin Kemp received a ukulele despite admitting he couldn’t play, Aitch got gel eye patches, and Ginge proudly displayed a Manchester United scarf. Other gifts included a foam roller for Jack Osbourne, an air freshener for Shona, a porcelain pig for Ruby Wax, a large hat for Tom, and a white bear for Lisa.
These small comforts offered a brief respite from the hardships of jungle life, a reminder of the world waiting beyond the trees and a testament to the bonds formed within the camp.
