Los Angeles is on the verge of a groundbreaking connection, a direct link to the African continent unlike any seen before. Royal Air Maroc is preparing to launch a new service, bridging the gap between Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, Morocco, and Los Angeles International Airport.
Beginning June 7th, this will be the only nonstop passenger route between LAX and Africa, operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights departing Casablanca at 4 a.m. will arrive in Los Angeles by 8:20 a.m., while return flights leave LAX at 10:20 a.m., landing in Casablanca the following day at 5:25 a.m.
The airline will utilize a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, configured with 274 seats, including a dedicated 18-seat business class cabin. This modern aircraft promises a comfortable journey across the Atlantic.
Royal Air Maroc is expanding its U.S. presence with Los Angeles as its fourth destination, joining New York, Miami, and the Washington D.C. area. This strategic move signals a growing commitment to the American market.
The timing of this launch is particularly noteworthy, coinciding with the anticipation surrounding the 2026 World Cup. The inaugural flight is scheduled just days before the tournament begins, promising a surge in demand as fans travel to the games.
Morocco itself has qualified for the World Cup, adding another layer of excitement to the new route. They will compete in Group C against Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland, potentially drawing even more travelers eager to support their team.
Beyond the World Cup, Royal Air Maroc envisions this route as a gateway, offering convenient one-stop connections from Los Angeles to numerous destinations throughout Africa. This could unlock a wealth of travel opportunities for adventurers and those seeking to explore the continent.
Travelers may find familiar benefits through the airline’s membership in the Oneworld alliance, potentially allowing the use of miles earned with partner airlines like American Airlines and Alaska Airlines for booking these flights.
