CRIME SCENE: Richmond Hill man accused of indecent acts

A 32-year-old Richmond Hill man is facing multiple charges, including two counts of indecent act, after three incidents in Richmond Hill.

York Regional Police said on Sept. 30 around 2 p.m., a victim was walking on a trail system in the area of Devonsleigh Blvd. and Summitcrest Dr. when they were approached by an unknown male who attempted to make conversation with the victim and allegedly exposed himself before leaving the area.

On Sept.11 around 4:45 p.m., police said a victim was on a trail system in the area of Woodriver St. and Bayview Ave. when the victim was followed by a male attempting to make conversation and as the victim walked away, the male was heard making sexual comments toward them.

On July 23 around 11 a.m., the victim was on a trail system in the area of Tower Hill Rd. and Mockingbird Dr. when the victim observed a male by a wooden fence, who allegedly exposed himself and committed an indecent act.

In all three incidents, the victims were not physically injured.

On Friday, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Richmond Hill. Jared Ross was charged with two counts of indecent act, three counts of mischief and one count of criminal harassment.

Investigators are releasing an image of the suspect as they believe there are additional victims.

SHROOM BUST IN HAMILTON

Hamilton Police seized a significant quantity of psilocybin (magic mushroom) products after a search warrant was served at a local dispensary.

Cops said on Friday around 2:05 p.m. they executed the warrant at Shroomyz at 1353 Main St. E. in Hamilton and located pre-packaged psilocybin and psilocybin-infused products behind the front cashier counter and stored in baskets on a shelving unit.

Police said during the search, a 24-year-old male employee behind the counter attempted to flee the scene but was quickly caught and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – psilocybin.

The seizure of a substantial quantity of psilocybin products, included 269 packages of psilocybin (7 grams each), 35 packages of psilocybin (28 grams each), 62 packages of psilocybin gummies (5,000 mg each) and 100 packages of psilocybin capsules (2,259 mg each).

The total weight of the seized psilocybin products amounted to approximately 3,398 grams with an estimated street value of approximately $30,950.
