House Democrats Silent After Confrontation Over Radical Policies

A co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America in New York City recently outlined the organization’s stance on restructuring core U.S. institutions during a televised interview.

The DSA advocates abolishing the Electoral College and replacing the presidency and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.

The organization also calls for ending lobbyist influence, eliminating dark money in politics, and publicly financing all elections.

During the exchange, the DSA official argued the U.S. Senate is undemocratic, citing disproportionate representation for smaller states versus large populations such as California’s.

The remarks drew criticism over a apparent misunderstanding of the constitutional framework, which establishes the United States as a republic rather than a direct democracy.

Several Democratic members of Congress were asked to respond to the proposals attributed to one of the party’s prominent activist wings.

One California representative said he does not support the agenda and has not read the proposal.

Another declined to comment, stating she is not a DSA member and cannot address documents released by the group.

A separate California Democrat said he was not concerned about the rise of far-left candidates, noting he looks forward to working with all Democratic colleagues.

The DSA’s platform has gained attention as self-identified socialists have won primary contests against more moderate Democrats this election cycle.

A DSA-affiliated media figure separately stated she would support a candidate with extremist views if they voted in line with the organization’s positions.
