Taylor Swift appeared on The Graham Norton Show in October to promote her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The appearance was arranged at the last minute, and the program’s schedule was already full, prompting producers to consider removing a guest from the iconic red sofa.
Swift insisted that no guest be displaced, and the production team honored her request, keeping every participant on the sofa.

This decision later influenced the casting of Swift’s “Opalite” music video, which was released in February and featured the entire sofa lineup.
The video includes Irish actor Cillian Murphy, singer Lewis Capaldi, actors Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner‑Smith, and host Graham Norton.
Swift explained that the idea emerged during the show after Gleeson made a light‑hearted comment about wanting to appear in one of her videos, prompting her to envision a collaborative project.

She likened the collaboration to a “school group project for adults,” noting that each participant voluntarily contributed to the video.
Following the appearance, Swift invited Norton to attend her wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden, an event that attracted extensive media coverage.
