Snelling forcefully refuted claims circulating on social media alleging Chicago police failed to assist federal agents during recent incidents. He unequivocally defended the role of federal law enforcement, emphasizing that any attack against them – regardless of agency – justifies a defensive response, potentially involving deadly force.
The Superintendent made it clear he’s intentionally avoided entering the political fray surrounding federal deployments. However, the accusations against his officers compelled him to address the situation, stating his leadership team’s lives are far too valuable to be used as political bargaining chips.
