A Jacksonville, Florida doctor now faces a stunning fall from grace. Lindsey Jae Minshew, 40, was arrested last week, accused of a crime far removed from the world of medicine: grand theft.
The charges stem from an incident on January 16th, where a Target employee reported a significant loss. Authorities allege Minshew stole $2,716.61 worth of merchandise, triggering a police investigation.
Investigators quickly focused on a distinctive vehicle – a black Porsche 911. Surveillance footage placed the car near the store around the time of the theft, and specifically, showed Minshew arriving in it approximately 30 minutes before entering Target.
The investigation took another unexpected turn when Minshew’s Porsche itself was reported stolen just days after the alleged theft at Target. This added a layer of complexity to the case as officers moved to apprehend her.
Minshew, a licensed medical professional in Florida since 2012, currently holds privileges at University of Miami Hospital and other local clinics. Her professional profile initially showed no record of criminal offenses.
However, a closer look revealed a caveat: the profile acknowledged that criminal history information might be incomplete. Access to federal criminal records is restricted, meaning a full picture of her past wasn’t publicly available.
She was taken into custody on January 23rd and released the following day. As of now, it remains unclear whether Minshew has secured legal representation to address these serious allegations.
The case raises unsettling questions about a respected member of the medical community and the stark contrast between her professional life and the accusations she now faces. Her medical license isn’t up for renewal until 2027, leaving her future uncertain as the legal process unfolds.
