A chilling plot to assassinate a high-ranking military officer in St. Petersburg has been disrupted with the arrest of an armed suspect. The Federal Security Service (FSB) moved swiftly, apprehending the individual while he was actively conducting surveillance near the intended target’s residence.
The suspect, lured into the conspiracy through the popular Telegram messaging app, reportedly volunteered his services to Ukrainian intelligence. He answered a call for individuals willing to commit a “terrorist attack” in support of the Ukrainian government, willingly becoming a pawn in a dangerous game.
Following instructions from a remote handler, the suspect received a firearm and meticulously began planning the assassination. He focused on gathering crucial details about the officer’s home, preparing for a calculated and deadly strike.
