UK Eurovision SHOCKER: Genre-Bending Star to Ignite Vienna!

The United Kingdom’s representative for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest has been unveiled: Look Mum No Computer. This isn’t your typical Eurovision artist; he’s an experimental singer, a prolific YouTuber, and a true innovator in the world of electronic music.

Based in Kent, Look Mum No Computer, originally Sam Battle, first gained recognition as the frontman of indie rock band ZIBRA, even performing at Glastonbury. However, he’s since forged a unique path, captivating audiences online with over 85 million views and a dedicated following across his social platforms.

He describes the opportunity to represent the UK as “completely bonkers” and an “absolute honour.” Look Mum No Computer has always been a devoted fan of Eurovision, drawn to the joy and spectacle it brings to millions, and intends to bring his full creative vision to the stage.

Beyond performing, Look Mum No Computer is an inventor, crafting extraordinary musical machines. He’s built organs from Furbies and Game Boys, synthesizer bicycles, and even a Star Wars droid orchestra – creations that have earned him a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest drone synthesizer and a TEDx Talk.

His journey has taken him across the UK and Europe, releasing music and recently completing a tour of Germany, the birthplace of underground electronic music. He’s not just a musician; he’s a builder, a performer, and a visionary.

The selection process was extensive, led by industry experts determined to find the perfect act to represent the UK. The BBC has hinted at a first listen to the song in the coming weeks, promising an exclusive radio play and interview.

This announcement follows recent reports of a potential last-minute change in the UK’s Eurovision entry due to concerns raised during a background check. However, the BBC strongly denied these claims, emphasizing a rigorous vetting process.

Last year, Remember Monday represented the UK, achieving a respectable 19th place. Before that, Sam Ryder’s remarkable second-place finish with “Space Man” ignited a renewed passion for Eurovision within the UK, a song that soared to number two on the UK charts.

The 2026 contest will be held in Vienna, Austria, but has faced controversy with some nations withdrawing in protest over Israel’s continued participation. Despite these challenges, the spirit of Eurovision endures, and Look Mum No Computer is ready to embrace it.

He’s prepared to “synthesize” Eurovision, bringing a unique and innovative energy to the stage. The UK is sending an artist who isn’t afraid to push boundaries and redefine what a Eurovision performance can be.
