A young man, known both for his music and a string of serious crimes, is once again evading authorities. Daniel Boakye, a 21-year-old drill rapper, has escaped from police custody for the second time in a week, sparking a widespread manhunt.
The latest escape occurred Sunday afternoon at Lewisham Hospital. Despite a pursuit by officers, Boakye managed to slip away, disappearing into the streets before they could regain control. This followed a similar incident just days earlier, on Wednesday, when he fled from West Middlesex Hospital while under escort.
Boakye, who performs under the name Dsavv, is known for tracks like ‘No Kiddin’ and ‘Pocket Rocket’. His life has taken a dramatic turn, shifting from the recording studio to a cycle of crime and escape.
Police describe him as Black, of medium height and slim build. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket. The circumstances surrounding both escapes are now under intense scrutiny.
Authorities are conducting a thorough review of the incidents, aiming to understand how Boakye was able to abscond from secure medical settings. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified and is involved in the investigation.
Adding another layer to the situation, Boakye’s deportation to Ghana was scheduled in the coming months. His repeated escapes raise questions about the security of detainees and the challenges of enforcing deportation orders.
The search continues as investigators work to locate and recapture Boakye. Each hour that passes increases the complexity of the operation and fuels public concern.
