POILIEVRE UNDER ATTACK: The Media's SHAMEFUL Lie Exposed!

POILIEVRE UNDER ATTACK: The Media's SHAMEFUL Lie Exposed!

A strange distortion took hold in the reporting of a recent political exchange. It wasn’t about what was said, but what some decided had been said, regardless of the truth. The words of the Opposition leader were seemingly irrelevant, replaced by a pre-determined narrative.

The focus centered on Conservative MP Jamil Jivani’s trip to Washington, D.C., and a perceived rebuke from his leader, Pierre Poilievre. Headlines blared accusations: “Poilievre disagrees with… ‘anti-American hissy fit comments,’” and “Pierre Poilievre distances himself from Jamil Jivani.” Even bolder claims suggested a leadership challenge was already underway.

But a closer look reveals a different story. Listening to the full exchange, it becomes clear Poilievre didn’t condemn Jivani; he appeared to support him. The narrative of a falling out was, at best, misleading, and at worst, a deliberate misrepresentation.

Pierre Poilievre speaks at the Conservative Party convention in Calgary, Jan. 30, 2026.

Poilievre acknowledged differing views on Jivani’s comments – made on a podcast – regarding Canadian reactions to U.S. tariffs. He stated Canadians were “legitimately upset” by those tariffs, echoing sentiments previously expressed by both the current and former Prime Ministers. He emphasized adapting to the situation, rather than reacting emotionally.

When questioned about Jivani’s message, Poilievre carefully distinguished between individual statements and the party’s position, stating Jivani “speaks for himself and I speak for the party.” He didn’t reveal the specifics of their private conversation, but he didn’t denounce Jivani either.

In fact, Poilievre went further, highlighting the impact of the tariff war on Jivani’s riding of Bowmanville—Oshawa North, where 1,200 auto jobs had been lost. He explicitly encouraged all MPs to actively work to overturn the tariffs and “stand up for Canada.”

There was no evidence of Poilievre throwing his colleague under the bus. Instead, he championed the right of his elected officials to fight for their constituents. This raises a critical question: why the deliberate distortion of his words?

The situation became even more clouded when another MP, Matt Jeneroux, crossed the floor to join the Liberal party. This event seemed to fuel the negative narrative surrounding Poilievre, with reports again diverging from his actual statements.

Beyond the political maneuvering, the treatment of Jivani himself was particularly troubling. He faced harsh criticism, even accusations of betrayal, and mockery directed at his personal relationships – including his friendship with the U.S. Vice-President.

This level of scrutiny and personal attack is unacceptable, especially considering Jivani’s background as a cancer survivor and a man of African heritage. He is a free citizen and a duly elected representative, entitled to engage with whomever he chooses.

The core issue isn’t simply disagreement with Jivani’s approach, but the construction of a narrative *before* the facts were honestly reported. It begs the question: why are some journalists and commentators more interested in shaping a story than in accurately conveying the truth to their audience?
