Joe Rogan, JD Vance Analyze LA Mayoral Election Controversy Directly

Vice President JD Vance and comedian Joe Rogan recently examined anomalies in the Los Angeles mayoral primary during a podcast discussion, highlighting concerns over the role of mail-in ballots and alleged irregularities in vote distribution.

The conversation centered on the unexpected outcome of the race, where candidate Spencer Pratt was displaced from second place by Nithya Raman after a surge of mail-in ballots. Rogan emphasized the peculiar nature of the results, noting that Raman’s gains occurred simultaneously with voter approval of a significant tax increase in a high-tax state. “They’re like WE DON’T pay ENOUGH!” Rogan remarked, underscoring the apparent contradiction.

Both participants raised questions about the integrity of the process. Rogan cited reports of homeless individuals allegedly being incentivized with cash and cigarettes to provide addresses for mail-in ballots. “Such that the Republican was actually kicked out of the race so that there’s not actually a real election,” Vance observed, referring to the elimination of a third-party candidate who might have altered the outcome.

Vance highlighted the statistical improbability of Raman’s jump from third to second place in the final tally. “You would expect the mail-in ballots to be more or less like the original ballots,” he explained, noting how the shift disproportionately favored Raman compared to leading candidates Karen Bass and Pratt. The discussion underscored broader skepticism about the fairness of the voting system in determining the contest.

The exchange revealed a shared perspective that the election’s outcome raises unresolved questions about procedural transparency. While the candidates’ remarks reflect a critical view of the results, they also reflect a broader public debate over the influence of mail-in voting mechanisms in shaping electoral outcomes.
