Alongside the ticket, Gonzales carried a framed photograph and provisions for the journey. The photograph depicted Omar with a man identified as her brother, a reference to long-standing and controversial allegations regarding their relationship and its potential connection to immigration matters.
Acknowledging the length of the trip, Gonzales also included bananas and rice, playfully suggesting they were staples for travelers from Somalia. The gesture was intended to be both pointed and laced with a layer of sardonic humor.
