A desperate search is underway for a man wanted in connection with a brutal shooting in Brampton last summer. The incident, which unfolded near Castlemore Rd. and Humberwest Pkwy., left one man dead and another seriously wounded.

Investigators believe Manpreet Singh, 29, and currently without a fixed address, is responsible for the violent attack. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder with a firearm.

Singh is described as approximately 5-foot-10, with a medium build and straight black hair. A distinctive tattoo on his right forearm – reading “Manna (heart symbol) Sukh” – may aid in his identification. Authorities warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation began on August 19, 2025, when two individuals forced their way into a home and opened fire. While one suspect, Dilpreet Singh, 24, was apprehended in October 2025 and charged with first-degree murder, Manpreet Singh remains at large.

In a separate case, a 24-year-old Toronto man is facing harrowing charges related to human trafficking. An investigation, dubbed Project Reproach, uncovered allegations of deception, coercion, and control used to exploit an underage female victim.

Ebenezer Kodua has been charged with procuring a person under 18 and trafficking in persons under 18 for sexual services. Police are deeply concerned that other victims may exist and have released Kodua’s image to the public, hoping to uncover further instances of exploitation.

Project Reproach also led to the arrest of four other adult males, all charged with obtaining sexual services from a minor. The investigation highlights the insidious nature of human trafficking and the vulnerability of young people.

Meanwhile, York Regional Police have announced the arrest of three individuals accused of a string of break-and-enters across Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham. Project Dora, launched in December 2025, culminated in the arrest of Paata Memarne, Mikheil Shvangiradze, and Tariel Nikuradze.

The trio allegedly committed over a dozen residential break-ins, stealing currency from Canadian, U.S., and Filipino sources. Police utilized air support to observe the suspects entering a residence, leading to their swift apprehension. They now face numerous charges, including breaking-and-entering and participating in a criminal organization.

In a disturbing incident in Leslieville, a man in his 60s is fighting for his life after a brutal stabbing. Police responded to an apartment building near Queen St. E. and Logan Ave. early Friday morning to find the victim critically injured.

A woman in her 30s has been arrested in connection with the attack, but the investigation remains ongoing as authorities piece together the events that led to this violent crime. The victim’s condition remains precarious as he receives medical attention.

Finally, York Region’s Chief of Police is set to retire in June after six years of service. His departure marks the end of an era for the force, leaving a legacy of leadership and dedication to public safety.
