A wave of horror has gripped Miami following the indictment of three young suspects in the brutal attack of a 12-year-old girl. Jusiah Jones, 12, Nelson Nunez, 13, and Xavier Tyson, 15, now face adult charges in a case that has shaken the community to its core.
The horrifying ordeal unfolded last June as the victim walked home from a friend’s house. Authorities allege Nelson Nunez forcibly pulled her into a community garden in the Overtown neighborhood, initiating a terrifying assault that would last for over half an hour.
During the attack, Jusiah Jones is accused of cruelly silencing the girl by shoving rocks into her mouth, preventing her desperate cries for help. Nunez allegedly continued the assault while Tyson is accused of participating in the horrific act.
The agonizing attack only ceased when the girl’s father, growing increasingly worried, began calling her name. The sound of his voice, a beacon of hope, finally brought the nightmare to an end.
Nunez faces charges of kidnapping and sexual battery on a minor, reflecting the severity of his alleged actions. Tyson is charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment, and lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, outlining his alleged involvement.
