Leeds United are advancing negotiations to sign Udinese centre back Oumar Solet in a move that could become one of the summer's standout bargains.
A fee near £20 million is under discussion for the French defender, whose contract with the Italian club expires in twelve months.
The pursuit is far from straightforward. Three Serie A clubs are also tracking Solet, with Inter and Juventus among those monitoring his situation.
Those Italian sides may prefer to wait a year and sign the former Lyon player without a transfer fee when his deal lapses.
Solet emerged from the Red Bull development system and impressed at RB Salzburg before joining Udinese in January 2025.
He immediately became a regular in Serie A, featuring in every match as Udinese secured a 10th-place finish last season.
His consistent performances drew interest from several top European clubs across both England and Italy.
Leeds avoided relegation with relative ease but struggled early in the campaign and are prioritising defensive reinforcement.
Securing Solet would represent a significant upgrade and a strong first step toward greater stability next season.
