Park Faces Hard Choice for Future as Rising Costs Surge

Fiesta Village Family Fun Park, a long‑standing attraction in Colton, California, announced it will close its doors permanently after its final operating days on July 10 and 11. The closure marks the end of an era for the park’s loyal visitors.

Since opening in 1974, the park has been a staple of the Inland Empire, hosting birthday parties, school field trips, and countless family outings for more than five decades. Its wide array of attractions has made it a beloved destination for generations.

Michelle and Patrick O’Brien have run the family‑owned venue since 2002, expanding the original mini‑golf, go‑karts and water slides into a diverse entertainment complex that included rides, laser tag and a roller‑skating rink. Their stewardship preserved the park’s charm while modernizing its offerings.

Rising operating costs and a decline in visitor numbers made continued operation unsustainable, prompting the owners to seek a buyer before deciding to shut down. The economic pressures reflect broader challenges faced by small amusement parks across the region.
