Governor Maura Healey praised the late Trooper Kevin Trainor as a defining example of public service in Massachusetts.
Trainor, a Salem State University graduate and State Police Academy alumnus, served with pride and dedication throughout his career.
He was described as a devoted son, brother, fiancé, coach, and mentor who could be relied upon both on and off duty.
Colleagues noted that he routinely responded to those in need without hesitation, a commitment that defined his heroism.
Officials emphasized that although his life ended prematurely, his legacy of courage and selflessness endures in the lives he protected.
The governor extended condolences to Trainor’s family, fellow troopers, and all who served alongside him.
