Seattle Firefighters Respond to 3-Alarm Warehouse Blaze

Firefighters responded to a 3‑alarm commercial warehouse fire in Seattle’s Industrial District early Wednesday morning, nearly 24 hours after a similar incident in the nearby Central District.

The blaze ignited just before 1 a.m. on the 4500 block of 7th Avenue South. Two tractor trailers were on fire and the flames spread to the adjacent warehouse.

Officials discovered large metal and plastic barrels inside one trailer and around the building, prompting crews to attack the fire from a safe distance. Subsequent inspection revealed the barrels were empty.

The warehouse roof partially collapsed at 1:15 a.m., preventing personnel from entering the damaged structure. Fire crews extinguished the flames by 3:22 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Earlier on Tuesday, a separate commercial building fire occurred on the 2700 block of East Madison Street, about 20 minutes from the warehouse site. The incident began around 3:22 a.m. and was extinguished by 5:30 a.m. No injuries were reported, and the fire was deemed accidental.
