They received an emergency call from their son who had escaped the house and made it to safety with a neighbour.
The bodies of Gilson, 43, and her husband Jeremiah Duffey, 48, were found by their son in the home, both shot dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
The TikTok post was made after a local parent filed a restraining order on Duffey after he was accused of grooming their 15-year-old daughter who played on the youth basketball team Duffey coached.
He allegedly kissed and touched the girl and was caught by another coach, her mother claimed in the police report.
The Owasso Police Department said the incident ‘was witnessed by another team coach who immediately intervened it to the juvenile’s parent.’
The child then revealed to her mother that Duffey engaged in more inappropriate behaviour, inviting her to his hotel room during a tournament trip and then offering her money ‘to keep her quiet.’
Gilson had filed a protection order against him after he threatened to commit suicide and went on the run with a gun in 2021.
An online fundraiser which has raised more than £24,000 for Sara’s children described her as ‘an incredible mum who loved them fiercely, worked hard to provide for them and dreamed of giving them the best life possible.
‘Her children were the centre of her world. And everything she did was for them.’
