Two people have died after a two-car crash on the eastbound express lane of Hwy. 401 near Dixie Rd. in Mississauga just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
The Ontario Provincial Police reported that two passenger vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision as traffic was slowing.
According to officials, two adults were pronounced deceased at the scene, while three others were transported to hospital with injuries.

The deceased have been identified as an 80-year-old male passenger and a 53-year-old female passenger, both from Cambridge, Ont.
A 32-second dashcam video shows traffic slowing on the 401 before a dark grey SUV comes barreling along at a high speed and slams loudly into the back of a silver SUV.
The silver SUV is sent spinning across several lanes of traffic while the dark grey SUV comes to a stop facing the car it has just hit with its hazard lights flashing.
As other vehicles pass the collision, they all start honking, highlighting the severity of the crash.
The eastbound express lanes were closed at Mississauga Rd., with vehicles stuck in the express lanes being allowed to filter through the scene.
It was expected to be three more hours before there was a complete reopening of the eastbound express lanes.
