Arsenal are advancing efforts to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes during the current transfer window.
The midfielder has informed Newcastle of his desire to leave and is awaiting a formal bid substantial enough to complete a move.
Former Premier League executive Keith Wyness has commented on how the situation may unfold, describing Guimaraes as the heartbeat of Newcastle’s recent progress.

Wyness suggested a fee around £90 million could represent a compromise, with Arsenal potentially increasing their offer and Newcastle lowering demands.
He argued that the player holds significant leverage, particularly given indications that Guimaraes wishes to move to London and join Arsenal.
According to Wyness, Arsenal may structure a deal attractive enough that Newcastle are compelled to accept, with the club reportedly recognising the likelihood of his departure.

He expects Guimaraes to push the transfer through despite the difficulty it presents for Newcastle.
In separate developments, Chelsea are set to extend the contract of a promising youth player before loaning him to a top-five European league club.
Benfica are nearing a loan agreement for striker Jhon Duran that could become a permanent move to Lisbon.
