The city’s police department reported that over the span of July 10 to 12, twelve individuals were shot across three separate incidents, resulting in three fatalities.

Police officers and other law enforcement personnel are seen at the intersection of St. Clair W. and Arlington Ave., near the site of a shooting that occurred at the Salsa on St. Clair Festival in Toronto on the evening of July 11, 2026.

The first shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday night at the intersection of Sheppard Avenue and Jane Street West. A 22‑year‑old man was killed, and two other individuals in their twenties were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Three suspects are being sought in connection with the incident.

At 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, a second shooting took place at the site of the cancelled Salsa on St. Clair festival on St. Clair and Arlington Avenues. Six people were shot, two of whom died. No suspect details have been released at this time.

Later that evening, a nightclub on Poulson Street in the Portlands area was the scene of a third shooting. Three patrons sustained gunshot wounds, and five individuals were arrested. One suspect, a 25‑year‑old man from Brampton, was charged with multiple offenses, including reckless discharge of a firearm and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

Police leadership emphasized that investigators are leaving no stone unturned as they examine the three separate incidents for potential links. The chief stated that the focus remains on identifying those responsible and ensuring they face justice.

Authorities have released the names of the two victims who died at the Salsa event, both of whom were believed to be targeted and known to each other. Firearms were recovered at the scene, and stray bullets injured bystanders. Police urged anyone who witnessed the shooting or captured any visual evidence to contact the 13 Division at 416‑808‑1300.

All inquiries and tips regarding the incidents can be directed to the Toronto Police Department’s 13 Division.
