Apple has released OS 27 betas to participants of the Public Beta program. The betas encompass iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27. The rollout targets users who signed up for the public testing track.
The most prominent update is the new conversational AI for Siri. The system can access device data to provide more accurate responses. Additional AI features appear across the operating system.
Performance improvements span all platforms, delivering faster and smoother experiences. Trust and safety enhancements aim to protect families. System‑wide AI optimizations support new functionality.
The beta builds correspond to the latest Developer Beta releases. Beta 3 launched on July 3 for iOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS. iPadOS and macOS received an updated version 2 of the same build, which the public beta uses.
Enrolling in the Public Beta requires a valid Apple ID. Users must log in to the Apple Beta Software Program, accept the terms, select the desired operating system, and follow the enrollment prompts. Devices are then eligible for beta updates.
To activate the beta on an iPhone or iPad, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and enable the Public Beta. On a Mac, open System Settings > General > Software Update, click the information icon beside Beta Updates, and select the Public Beta. Compatibility can be checked within the update interface.
