Oscar-Nominated Actor Sam Neill Dies from Dementia at 75

New Zealand actor Sam Neill's cause of death has been officially revealed after his passing earlier this week.

According to a statement released by his family, Neill died unexpectedly at the age of 78, with his manager Philip Grenz confirming that the actor succumbed to pneumonia.

Neill had recently overcome a battle with stage-three blood cancer, specifically angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a fast-growing and rare type of blood cancer, having been diagnosed with the condition in 2023.

Just months prior to his passing, Neill revealed that he was cancer-free after undergoing treatment, saying in a statement that he was "very, very excited" about the news.

Neill's acting career spanned numerous notable films, including "The Piano," "The Hunt for Red October," "Event Horizon," and "The Horse Whisperer," in addition to his iconic role as Dr. Alan Grant in the "Jurassic Park" franchise, which he reprised in "Jurassic Park III" and "Jurassic Park World Dominion."
