Noelia Castillo Ramos, just 25 years old, was euthanized in Barcelona after a protracted legal battle, becoming the youngest person in Spain to utilize the country’s assisted dying law.

Her father, Gerónimo Castillo, fiercely contested the authorization of her euthanasia, arguing that Noelia’s psychological state compromised her ability to make such a monumental decision.
