A 44-year-old mother and nurse from Southern California has vanished, prompting authorities to launch a search effort to find her.
Angelica Brophy was last seen on July 6 when she went to a local casino and then drove to Palomar Mountain, a place she frequently visited. Her husband contacted the Oceanside Police Department later that afternoon when she failed to pick up her daughter from summer camp as expected.
Police attempted to contact Brophy on her cell phone, but it was either dead or switched off. Days later, investigators discovered her car parked in a lot at Palomar State Park, with no sign of her.
Brophy, who works as a nurse at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Marcos, California, is described by her family members as a kind and devoted mother. Her loved ones are trying to remain positive and are urging others to do the same.
Her family has created a missing persons poster, which includes a description of Brophy's physical appearance and the clothes she was last seen wearing. The authorities are also investigating whether Brophy may have been with someone or followed at the time of her disappearance.
Oceanside Police Captain Nick Nunez stated that, at this point, there is nothing to suggest foul play in Brophy's disappearance. Detectives are reaching out to the casino to gather more information and are asking anyone with information about Brophy's disappearance to contact them at (760) 435-4900.
