Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has criticised FIFA over scheduling that forced his squad into an unsuitable training session ahead of the World Cup final against Spain.
The defending champions arrived at the tournament venue late on the eve of the match, reaching their base around 11pm. Scaloni said the team was required to train at a time that conflicted with their recovery needs.
"Today they forced us to train at a time we didn't want," the 48-year-old said. He described the session as strange and rushed, leaving little opportunity to refine tactics.

The manager noted that several players are not at full fitness and that final selections will depend on their condition. Argentina secured their place in the final with a 2-1 win over England.
Spain advanced by defeating France 2-0 in the other semifinal. The final is set for 8pm BST tomorrow, with the third-place playoff between England and France scheduled for 10pm BST this evening.
Scaloni's remarks may reflect genuine concern over preparation or form part of psychological tactics against a formidable opponent. The margin between the two sides is expected to be narrow.
