The United States military launched a second wave of strikes against Iran on Wednesday night, following earlier attacks in the morning and overnight hours.
The latest strikes began around 10:30 p.m. local time and targeted Iranian military capabilities used to threaten vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Explosions were reported in several Iranian cities, including Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, and Chabahar.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responded with a threat to close additional energy export corridors.
The IRGC warned that the United States "must brace for the closure of all other export corridors that benefit the U.S. and its allies."
The force stated that regional energy exports are "either shared by all, or denied to all."

According to the U.S. military, two commercial ships have been redirected since a naval blockade of Iranian ports was reinstituted.
The blockade of ships heading to and from Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz began around 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
Iranian state television reported that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to all vessels, claiming two commercial ships attempted to pass through without coordinating with Iran.
Warning shots were fired at the vessels, which were stopped along with other ships held at anchorages in the strait, the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman.
A man convicted of participating in January anti-government protests was executed by hanging on Wednesday morning.
The judiciary identified the individual as Mohammad Amini Dehaghani, convicted of "moharebeh" and "corruption on earth" after allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail and destroying public property.
The protests began in late December over the cost of living, with rights groups reporting thousands killed in subsequent crackdowns.
The IRGC announced a retaliatory campaign against American military targets, stating it had launched strikes on bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
At least seven Iranian military personnel were killed in overnight U.S. strikes on a military base in the southeastern city of Bampur.
Iranian state media reported that the attacks struck barracks, accommodation facilities, guard posts, and a guesthouse, with additional personnel injured.
The United States began a fresh wave of attacks at 6 a.m. ET Wednesday to further degrade Iranian forces' ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The new round of attacks marked the fourth consecutive night of U.S. strikes following the reimposition of the naval blockade on Iranian ports.
