Ann Widdecombe Abuse Suspect Spotted Dining at Home Hours Later

The investigation into the murder of former Conservative politician Ann Widdecombe has taken a significant turn, with a 28-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of the crime. The man, who lived alone with his Labradoodle, Rave, reportedly ate a pizza from a supermarket just hours after the murder.

A counter-terrorism police investigation is now underway, with officers pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to establish the motivation for the attack. The authorities have requested that anyone with any information come forward, thanking the public for their "support and patience".

The investigation began on July 10, when Ann Widdecombe's body was found "covered in blood" at her home in Devon. A manhunt was launched, and a 26-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of the crime, but he was later released from custody.

The police have now said they believe Miss Widdecombe was attacked 24 hours before she was found, at around 12:30pm on July 8. The investigation is moving at pace, with officers examining all available evidence to identify those responsible.

A second suspect, a 28-year-old British national, was arrested on suspicion of the murder in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, on July 11. However, police have clarified that they are not looking for a second suspect, and there is no risk to the wider public.

Counter-terrorism police are now leading the investigation, following new information and evidence that has come to light. The police have reiterated their appeal for anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
