Harrison James Armstrong, known to the world as Aitch, is stepping out of the recording studio and into the Australian jungle. The Manchester-born rapper is preparing to face the challenges ofI’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, leaving behind chart-topping hits for a new kind of spotlight.
The name “Aitch” itself is a playful nod to his identity – a pronunciation of the letter ‘H’, the first letter of his given name. He burst onto the rap scene in 2015, quickly evolving from a rising talent to a recognized force in British music, with eleven top 10 singles to his name.
His debut studio album,Close to Home, released in 2022, soared to number two on the UK Albums Chart, solidifying his place in the industry. Tracks like “Taste” and “Baby” further cemented his popularity, both reaching the number two spot on the UK Singles Chart, demonstrating a consistent ability to connect with audiences.
Currently, Aitch is navigating life as a single man. His previous relationship with Australian model Lola Rose Thompson ended in late 2023, a split publicly acknowledged by Thompson with a post celebrating newfound singlehood. The breakup reportedly became strained when Aitch publicly discussed a private matter.
Before Lola, Aitch shared a highly publicized connection with Amelia Dimoldenberg, fueled by his appearance on her popular YouTube series, “Chicken Shop Date.” He playfully referred to her as his “wife” during their time together, but the pair ultimately confirmed they were simply friends.
Entering the jungle, Aitch anticipates a unique challenge: managing his powerful snoring. He jokingly admits it even carries a Northern accent! Beyond that, he’ll miss the freedom to act on impulse, the ability to wake up and spontaneously decide to spend the day at a theme park.
Despite any potential discomfort, Aitch hopes to bring positive energy to the camp. He even has a dream campmate in mind – Snoop Dogg, believing the rapper could somehow make the jungle experience significantly easier, though he admits he can’t explain why.
Beyond personal challenges, Aitch carries a deeply personal motivation into the jungle. He aims to raise awareness for Down syndrome, a cause close to his heart as his younger sister, Gracie, lives with the genetic disorder. Gracie is a devoted fan of the show and will be cheering him on from home.
Aitch acknowledges his emotional side, admitting he’s easily moved by the feelings of others. “If I see someone crying, I will cry for them,” he confessed, hinting at a compassionate presence within the competitive environment of the jungle.
