TORONTO MANHUNT: VIOLENT THIEF ON THE LOOSE!

A Saturday afternoon turned violent near Gerrard Street East and Woodfield Road, leaving one person injured and searching for their stolen phone. Police responded to reports of an assault at 4:43 p.m., arriving to find a scene stemming from a heated verbal dispute.

The altercation quickly escalated, culminating in a physical attack and the theft of the victim’s cell phone. Investigators are now seeking the public’s help to identify the suspect, described as a man in his 40s, standing approximately 6-foot-2 with a notably muscular build.

Witnesses recall the suspect sporting distinctive dreadlocks, concealed partially by a toque, and wearing glasses. He was further identified by his clothing: a red hoodie layered beneath a black jacket, paired with black pants. The suspect is wanted for both assault and theft, with the stolen property valued under $5,000.

Toronto Police are looking for this male suspect in connection with a Saturday night assault in the area of Gerrard St. E. and Woodfield Rd.

Meanwhile, a separate investigation led to the seizure of a loaded semi-automatic handgun and ammunition in the Rathburn Road and The East Mall area on Tuesday. A search warrant execution uncovered the weapon, prompting multiple firearm-related charges.

Kodianne Anakons, 28, of Toronto, now faces three firearm offences. Alana Mancini-Russell, 20, from Peterborough, and Neos Stoneypoint, 28, also of Toronto, have each been charged with two firearm-related offences stemming from the same incident.

The discovery of the handgun underscores ongoing efforts to combat illegal firearms within the city. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information regarding either investigation to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining public safety.
