BOOKER & LEWIS: SECRET WEDDING SHOCKER!

BOOKER & LEWIS: SECRET WEDDING SHOCKER!

Senator Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis have begun their life together as husband and wife, exchanging vows in a deeply personal ceremony this past weekend. The celebration unfolded across two cities that hold significant meaning for the couple: Newark, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.

Their journey to the altar was surprisingly swift, occurring less than three months after publicly announcing their engagement. The couple initially formalized their union at a quiet ceremony at the federal courthouse in Newark, surrounded only by their parents.

The following day, they expanded the celebration with a more expansive, interfaith ceremony – a beautiful blending of Booker’s Christian faith and Lewis’s Jewish heritage – held at a private venue. The couple expressed overwhelming gratitude, describing hearts “overflowing” with joy.

The story of how they met is a modern fairytale, sparked by a mutual friend with a knack for matchmaking in May 2024. A blind date in Washington, D.C., stretched for over five hours, hinting at an immediate and powerful connection.

When Booker eagerly sought a second date, Lewis faced a scheduling conflict – a work trip to Newark. But Booker, sensing something special, skillfully persuaded her to postpone her flight, leading to an unexpected reunion in his hometown.

That second date proved even more enchanting, filled with shared meals and a tour of Newark’s landmarks that shaped Booker’s life. The evening culminated in their first kiss beneath the grandeur of the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

Alexis Lewis brings a successful career to the marriage, currently serving as a director of investments at Brasa Capital Management. Prior to this, she contributed her talents to the office of former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Lewis, reflecting on the serendipitous turn of events, playfully shared a mantra with her friends: “Change your flight, change your life.” After years of navigating life independently, she hadn’t fully believed in the possibility of marriage, until finding Booker.

“After so many years on my own, I’m not entirely sure I believed I would get married,” Lewis confessed. “But now, we’ve found each other at this stage of our lives, after epic personal journeys. And that deserves celebration.”
