A 66-year-old man, formerly a massage therapist, now faces two counts of sexual assault stemming from alleged incidents in South Etobicoke. The accusations span seven years, revealing a disturbing pattern of alleged misconduct during professional treatments.
The first alleged assault occurred on November 28, 2018, at a massage clinic near Lake Shore Blvd. W. and Thirtieth St. According to police, the victim was sexually assaulted while receiving a massage, triggering a lengthy investigation.
Police arrested David Ludwig on Saturday, adding a second charge to the one already filed in July. This latest charge follows a similar allegation made earlier this summer, bringing the total number of alleged victims to two.
The July incident, reported on July 25, also took place at a massage clinic in the same area – near Lake Shore Blvd. W. and Thirty Third St. – with the victim reporting a sexual assault during a massage session.
Following the first allegation, Ludwig signed an undertaking with police, restricting contact with the initial alleged victim and prohibiting him from approaching within 50 metres of her. He was also required to inform all future clients of the pending charges before providing treatment.
The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) responded by issuing an interim suspension of Ludwig’s registration on August 11, 2025. This suspension remains in effect pending further investigation and potential disciplinary action.
Ludwig is scheduled to appear in court on February 11, 2026, to address the most recent charge. Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Authorities have released Ludwig’s photograph and are urging anyone with information related to these investigations to contact the Toronto Police at 416-808-2200. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The ongoing investigation highlights the importance of vigilance and reporting any instances of misconduct within the healthcare profession, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
