Several years ago, Boulos made another personal change, adopting his maternal surname, Boulos, professionally. He explained this decision stemmed from a desire to clarify his identity and embrace his Sudanese-Egyptian heritage.
He felt his birth name, Bland, didn’t fully represent who he was, and adopting Boulos allowed him to honor his diverse cultural background and tell a more complete story through his name.
