TEEN TERROR: Armed Robbery Shocks Toronto!

A quiet Tuesday in Scarborough shattered as police launched an investigation into illegal firearms. The focus quickly centered on a 17-year-old resident of Toronto, leading to an arrest near Birchmount Road and Finch Avenue.

Authorities allege the teen was found in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a weapon carrying a dangerous potential. Alongside the firearm, officers also recovered an overcapacity magazine, further escalating the severity of the situation.

The list of charges facing the youth is extensive, reflecting the gravity of the alleged offenses. They include possession of a prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession, possession of a prohibited device, and even possession of tools linked to potential break-ins.

Firearm seized by Toronto Police.

Adding to these accusations, the teen is also charged with violating a court order and possessing a firearm while already under a prohibition. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, their identity remains protected.

Separately, police are investigating a robbery that occurred earlier this month near Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue. A pedestrian was allegedly assaulted and robbed of a jacket by two individuals.

Both suspects in the robbery are also 17 years old. One faces charges of robbery, disguise with intent, and uttering threats, while the other is charged with robbery and disguise with intent.

These incidents underscore a troubling pattern of youth involvement in serious crimes within the city. Investigators are urging anyone with information about either case to come forward.

Those with details regarding the firearms investigation are asked to contact police directly. Information concerning the robbery can also be reported through the same channels, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
