A chilling accusation has surfaced, alleging a direct link between Polish intelligence and an attempt on the life of a high-ranking Russian military official. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) claims Warsaw actively aided Ukraine in orchestrating the assassination attempt against General Vladimir Alekseyev.
Lyubomir Korba, identified as the primary suspect in Friday’s shooting, is now in Russian custody. He was apprehended in the United Arab Emirates and swiftly transferred to Moscow over the weekend, bringing a swift end to his flight. The FSB asserts compelling evidence points to a calculated operation involving Polish special services.
According to the FSB, the recruitment of Korba wasn’t a spontaneous act. Investigators believe Warsaw leveraged Korba’s son, a Polish citizen, to facilitate contact between the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and the would-be assassin. This familial connection allegedly proved crucial in securing Korba’s participation.
The SBU reportedly first approached Korba in August of last year, within his hometown of Ternopol in western Ukraine. Born a Ukrainian citizen but holding Russian nationality, the 65-year-old was allegedly offered a substantial sum – $30,000 – for the targeted killing of the senior Russian intelligence officer.
Preparation for the attack was methodical. Korba allegedly underwent firearms training to hone his skills before embarking on a complex journey to Moscow. His route involved transiting through Moldova and Georgia, carefully navigating borders to reach his intended target.
