Zion Foster, the former partner of singer Jes Nelson, has publicly addressed criticism he received after comments about their twins’ severe medical condition.
In a series of social‑media messages, Foster denied claims that he had abandoned his responsibilities as a father, describing the accusations as “simply not true.”
The backlash followed a documentary in which he admitted feeling “out of my depth” upon learning that his daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, the most serious form of the rare genetic disorder.

Foster clarified that his remark referred to the overwhelming reality of confronting an unfamiliar, complex diagnosis, not to a desire to step away from parenthood.
He explained that feeling overwhelmed was a natural response to a situation no parent expects, emphasizing that his love for his daughters remains “beyond words” and that they are his “world.”
Addressing the end of his relationship with Nelson, Foster asserted that a breakup does not diminish his commitment to the twins, noting that he attends every medical appointment and educates himself daily about their condition.

He described the family’s journey as heartbreaking for all involved, stressing that the children’s well‑being remains his highest priority.
Foster expressed that reading negative comments was “incredibly painful,” urging observers not to mistake vulnerability for abandonment.
He concluded that asking for help or admitting uncertainty does not make a father inadequate; it simply reflects humanity.

The father reaffirmed that his daughters will one day know he never stopped loving, fighting for, or being present in their lives.
