For decades, New York has been my life’s work. I’ve stood with its people through unimaginable trials – the heartbreak of the AIDS crisis, the horror of 9/11, the fury of Hurricane Sandy, and the isolating grip of COVID-19. I know this city, its resilience, and its boundless potential in a way few others can claim.
But the New York we cherish – a beacon of safety, opportunity, and promise – is facing a critical moment. The very foundations of our city are at risk, and the choices we make now will determine its future.
I haven’t always been flawless. I’ve faced adversity, made mistakes, and absorbed the blows. Yet, my record speaks for itself: decades of tangible progress, real improvements in the lives of everyday New Yorkers. I’ve consistently bridged divides, championed fiscal responsibility alongside progressive ideals, and proven that both can coexist.
I spearheaded projects once deemed impossible – the transformation of LaGuardia Airport, the construction of the Kosciuszko Bridge, the expansion of the Second Avenue Subway, and the revitalization of Moynihan Train Hall. I fought to bring jobs and economic growth to our city, and when crisis struck, I led with a steady hand guided by science, not empty rhetoric.
This election isn’t about traditional political labels. It’s a stark choice between pragmatic leadership and reckless ideology, between restoring a functioning city and surrendering to chaos and decline. It’s about the future we want for our children and grandchildren.
My opponent offers a vision rooted in protest, not progress. His proposals – defunding the police, decriminalizing prostitution, and closing Rikers Island without a viable plan for its population – are not solutions; they are a dangerous threat to our city’s stability and safety. He fundamentally misunderstands the needs of New Yorkers.
We’ve witnessed the consequences of ideological drift before, under a previous administration that allowed crime, homelessness, and dysfunction to flourish. My opponent would amplify those failures, pushing our city further down a path of recklessness and disconnection.
He lacks the experience necessary to lead a city of this magnitude. He’s never managed a budget, run a business, or overseen a workforce. His policies are simplistic slogans, divorced from the realities of governing. The price of handing him the keys to City Hall would be paid by every New Yorker – in lost jobs, diminished safety, and a fractured community.
My campaign is built on a broad coalition of New Yorkers – Democrats, Republicans, and independents – united by a shared belief: New York can work again. We can build a city that is safer, fairer, and more affordable for all.
I will prioritize public safety by adding 5,000 officers to the NYPD, restoring precision policing, and rebuilding trust within our communities. We will invest in youth programs, create opportunities for our young people, and relentlessly target illegal guns and violent offenders with zero tolerance. Every New Yorker deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood.
We will expand educational opportunities by doubling the number of specialized high schools, broadening access to Gifted & Talented programs, and supporting charter schools that deliver results for our most vulnerable students. We will empower parents, support our teachers, and ensure every child has access to a quality education.
I will cut the bureaucratic red tape that stifles businesses and drives families away. We will accelerate the construction of affordable housing, provide tax relief for working families, and create a competitive environment that attracts employers and generates jobs. A job is the most powerful tool for social mobility.
Let’s be clear: this is a defining moment. A vote for other candidates ultimately supports a vision that would dismantle our progress and jeopardize our future. The choice is stark, and the stakes are incredibly high.
You may not agree with me on every detail, but you will always know where I stand, and you will always know that I will fight tirelessly for New York. I don’t just talk about results; I deliver them. This is my commitment to you.
The future of our city hangs in the balance. Let’s choose a path forward – a city that works for everyone, or a city that doesn’t work at all. I’m Andrew Cuomo, and I’m asking for your vote. Together, we can fight for New York, and deliver a brighter future for all.
