Police have successfully apprehended escaped prisoner Marwan Jumaa, who was serving a sentence for attacking two women.
Jumaa, 20, had escaped from North Manchester Hospital on Tuesday, prompting an urgent appeal from police for information or intelligence on his whereabouts.
Following extensive enquiries, Lancashire Constabulary confirmed that Jumaa was arrested by one of their officers in the early hours of Friday.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) expressed gratitude to the public for sharing and responding to their appeal, with Detective Superintendent Nicola McCulloch praising the swift actions of the Lancashire Constabulary officer who recognized and arrested Jumaa.
Jumaa will now be returned to a secure hospital facility, and specialist officers were deployed as part of the search effort, which entered its second day.
Despite concerns raised by the public, police have not received any information suggesting an intention to inflict imminent harm, but emphasized that Jumaa is a wanted and dangerous individual.

Police are urging anyone who believes they have seen Jumaa or has information about his whereabouts to contact them immediately via 999, as even small pieces of information could greatly assist the investigation.
