The vibrant Indonesian island of Bali became the scene of a swift and decisive action against adult content creator Bonnie Blue, whose real name is Tia Billinger. Authorities have ordered her deportation and imposed a ban from entering Indonesia for at least a decade, effectively ending her time on the island.
The decision stems from a breach of visa regulations, specifically working on a tourist visa. Immigration officials confirmed Blue and her three-person team were found to have misused their travel permissions by producing content for commercial purposes while in Bali.
Despite initial concerns, Blue was cleared of violating Indonesia’s stringent anti-pornography laws, a relief given the potential for a harsh sentence – up to 12 years imprisonment and substantial fines. However, the legal ramifications didn’t end there.
A minor traffic offense added to her troubles, resulting in a $12 fine. Blue was scheduled to depart Indonesia shortly after midnight, leaving behind a complex legal situation and a lengthy ban from the country.
The legal issues extend beyond the visa violation. Police are now pursuing charges related to a vehicle, playfully dubbed the “Bangbus,” which lacked proper registration. The brightly colored vehicle featured prominently in some of Blue’s online content.
Adding to the complications, one member of Blue’s British team is accused of operating the vehicle without a valid international driving license. This detail further underscores the extent of the team’s disregard for local regulations.
Police officials stated Blue’s activities were inconsistent with the purpose of her visit. Instead of simply traveling and experiencing Bali, she was actively engaged in content creation, a clear violation of her visa terms.
The case began with a raid on a production studio in Bali, resulting in the arrest of 34 individuals, including Blue. The raid occurred in a region of Indonesia with a predominantly Muslim population, where the production of pornography is strictly prohibited.
During the raid, authorities seized a range of items, including video equipment, contraceptives, and pharmaceuticals. The “Bangbus” itself, emblazoned with Blue’s branding, was also confiscated, becoming a central piece of evidence.
Initial investigations focused on potential violations of anti-pornography laws. However, after two days of questioning, police determined they “had not found any pornographic elements” within the seized materials. Those questioned claimed they were producing a reality show.
Blue is known for her provocative content, which often involves touring universities in a bus and seeking out young adults. She reportedly arrived in Bali during “schoolies week,” a popular vacation period for Australian high school graduates.
Prior to her trip to Bali, Blue had planned to create adult content with young adults, but her Australian tourist visa was cancelled, prompting her to seek opportunities elsewhere. This ultimately led to her controversial and ultimately curtailed stay in Indonesia.
