A Wednesday afternoon in North York shattered with the horrifying impact of a car crashing directly into a building at the bustling intersection of Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West. The scene quickly descended into chaos as emergency services raced to respond to reports of a vehicle embedded within a currency exchange located inside a small shopping complex.
Initial reports indicated a pedestrian had been struck and was trapped beneath debris. Firefighters and paramedics worked urgently, battling to free the man, but despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The weight of the tragedy settled heavily on the first responders and onlookers.
The impact also injured two other pedestrians. One woman was rushed to the hospital via emergency trauma run, her condition critical. Another individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical attention.
