A new initiative aims to encourage voluntary departures. Individuals who choose to self-deport using a government application before the year’s end are being offered a $3,000 financial incentive to aid with travel expenses back to their country of origin.
Furthermore, those participating in the program will have any outstanding fines or penalties related to immigration violations completely waived, providing a clean slate upon their return. This program represents a novel approach to managing border security and encouraging compliance.
