A 63-year-old man has been arrested after crashing into the security gate of a $26 million East Hampton property owned by two prominent musicians.
Authorities said the suspect drove at a high rate of speed up the driveway and failed to stop at the closed mechanical gates, causing significant damage.
Police described the man as confused at the scene and following his arrest. He has no prior criminal history and made no threats or references to the residents.

Investigators believe the incident may not have been intentional. The man had stopped at a neighboring home seeking a woman by name before being told she did not live there.
He was later taken to a local hospital complaining of pain, and his vehicle was impounded. Officers completed criminal trespass and criminal mischief affidavits.
No weapons, notes, or direct threats were discovered during the investigation. Police have not confirmed whether the suspect knew who resided at the property.

It remains unclear if the homeowners were present during the incident. One of them recently concluded a series of solo concerts in New York, drawing more than 135,000 attendees across three stadium shows.
The touring schedule includes upcoming performances in London, Paris, and Los Angeles. The investigation into the driveway collision remains ongoing.
